You said it right, hedge. I often skip the LA Show, but given my "situation" this year, I should go. Oaklander, who knows what is a rumor, and what isn't. A literary giant died yesterday; Gabriel Garcia Marquez. Nobel Prize winner, author of Life in the Time of Cholera & One Hundred Years of Solitude. RIP. cabagge alien, I don't know what or where Rocky Point is.

hey Trey, put a dollar on lucky # 10 for me and talking about odds, history says we'd have a better chance of seeing them in LA prior to the big one. Have a great weekend everybody.

Yes, that was Union's first national championship, though they did make it to the Frozen Four in 2012. It's a most improbable thing for a school that is not only tiny (2,200 students), but also does not offer athletic scholarships AND has very high admission standards. Then on top of that, to beat perennial NCAA hockey powers Boston College and Minnesota in the Frozen Four - wow!

I think it violates NCAA regulations to call UND the Dirty Sioux. That will go on your permanent record. Missed the game because we were at Willie Nelson and DBT (awesome - man can Willie perform!) but it's fun (for us!) that Union brought it. Is that there first hockey championship? It's good to share the wealth. (For those that don't know - if you care - Mr. Oaklander's parents went to UND and he grew up on the campus in student housing). BB - I wish we could do SD in June. Word is that they may add a NorCal show in June before Bottle Rock. Not sure if that is just a rumor?

Gene - sorry I missed your message the other day. Union was buzzing around our goal the whole game - they played a great game! It's fun to see a small college like that play D1 in hockey and win it all - congrats to them! We are bummed out - but we know we were outplayed (for the most part) - we looked good the first 15 minutes of the game. At least we beat Mr. Oaklander's UND team on Thursday the "Dirty Sioux" and I won that bet... :-)

    Oaklander Berkeley!

Hello....hello....am I still allowed on SO after my long, unplanned and unpleasant break? I am so glad to see you (all) still here! I have a new laptop that only took two exchanges and then some getting used to that will hopefully provide me with more consistent SO check-ins. You are all most likely Mac folks but Microsoft and I go way back so sticking with that even though Windows 8.1 took a lot of getting used to. To catch up: some fun crumb sightings recently at Victor Krummenacher birthday gig, a pleasant birthday dinner for PTA Mother and Mr. Oaklander, and much work. We did catch Drive By Truckers with Willie Nelson last night and that was a fun show. Listening a lot to new DBT album. And anticipating new cvb (did you see they are playing San Diego in June?) , Monks of Doom and Cracker down the line. Oh and lost a bet that should have been a sure thing to Borky ;)

Awesome Gigglejuice CD release party last night at Higher Grounds in East Hampton, CT. Jam-packed house full of rabid gigglers who were wowed by a kick ass performance of the entire CD, followed by a medley of Gigglejuice's best plucked from the band's past. Lots of people who made the long journey to be there, including Dr. Lube from Orlando, Julie Bradlow from Charlotte, Sector 7G from Raleigh-Durham Billy&Anna from Philly and Sid from Wilmington. This CD rocks. I strongly suggest getting one from gigglejuice.com. Always great to see everyone.
